Soft Skills Critical for Workplace Success
Soft skills often don't get the attention from prospective job seekers that they deserve. Most job seekers read the job description and immediately focus on the hard technical skill requirements of the posting. Little attention goes to the importance. Communication is probably one of the most critical soft skills that are missed. This skill is needed in order to achieve success in places where teamwork is essential. To work in a group, one must be able to make clear their ideas for others to understand to help move things forward. This is also an important skill when working with various clients. A client needs you to be an effective communicator to understand what you are wanting to do and how it meets what they desire. The other soft skill that is very important to have is teamwork. Teamwork is critical to the workplace since it is how workers achieve a common goal. Teamwork and communication are complementary skills that are difficult to find a situation where one is present without the other. Personally, though, I think the most critical of the soft skills is conflict management. Eventually, everybody has to deal with a coworker that they can’t get along with. Also, there may be conflicting ideas that exist between teammates. Having good conflict management skills helps these potential problems not become a problem that can affect success. Good conflict management leverages teamwork and communication skills to help define what is at issue and get to a good compromise that both parties can accept. Conflict management extends far beyond the workplace too. This skill I think is critical to all of the personal relationships we have with other people. Good conflict management leads to happiness for everybody.

Hi Nebiyat, I agree with your post, Teamwork and communication is important as well as being accountable for your absent. Meeting to discuss ideas and getting everyone in the groups input is important. I feel that there are many great and hard workers out there that get overlooked because they have limited hard skills but given the opportunity you can be a great asset to the company. Keep up the great work!
